Robert De Vincenzo, a very successful Argentine golfer once won a tournament.

After receiving the check and smiling for the cameras he went to the clubhouse and prepared to leave.

Some time later, he walked alone to his car in the parking lot

and was approached by a young woman.

She congratulated him on his victory and then told him that her child was seriously ill and near death. She did not know how she could pay the doctor’s bills and hospital expenses.

De Vincenzo was touched by her story and he took out a pen and endorsed his winning check for payment to the woman.

The next week he was having lunch in a country club when a Professional Golf Association official came to his table.

“Some of the boys in the parking lot last week told me you met a young woman there after you won that tournament.”

De Vincenzo nodded.

“Well,” said the official, “I have news for you. She’s a phony. She has no sick baby. She’s not even married. She fleeced you, my friend.”

“You mean, there is no baby who is dying?” said De Vincenzo.

“That’ right,” said the official.

“That’s the best news I’ve heard all week.” said De Vincenzo….

….while continuing to sample some oysters.

In life, recall when you helped someone by just walking on the path of Truth & Compassion.

Let charity begin at home but make sure it doesn’t end there. Remember, a kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal.

This world, is just a place for us to learn that we need each other more than we want to admit.

The next time you want to withhold your help, or your love, or your support for anyone, for whatever the reason, ask ourselves a simple question, ‘Do the reasons we want to withhold reflect more on them or on us and do we want that reason to define  us forever?

Sometimes, we may discover that we have  helped the wrong person, but that should not be a reason to stop helping other people in need, even though you were fooled previously.

If we want to do good, there are opportunities everywhere.

Don’t let a bad experience spoil your good heart.

Let’s go ahead in life and   give not to get something in return but,  give to inspire others to give and spread kindness, love and compassion.

Do your karma, let others pay for theirs.

Look for positives in every situation & stay blessed forever.
