‘Association’

Jim Rohn said, “We are the average of the five people closest to us”.

Ask yourself – Are my closest friends and people I associate with a reflection of my value system and my goals for my life?

Iron turns into rust, if it seeks the company of the soil. It glows, softens and takes on useful shapes, if it enjoys the company of fire. Dust can fly, if it seeks the company of the wind, it ends up as slime in a pit, if it chooses water. You can fly or walk, rise or fall, it all depends on the company that you choose to keep.

No road is long with good company. Strive to keep good company.

Swami Vivekananda gives a beautiful explanation on the value of good Association. Explaining the meaning  of  ‘Association’. He said: “The rain drops from the sky: If it is caught in hands, it is pure enough for drinking. If it falls in a gutter, its value drops so much that it can’t be used even for washing the feet. If it falls on a hot surface, it perishes. If it falls on a lotus leaf, it shines like a pearl and finally, if it falls on an oyster, it becomes a pearl. The drop is the same, but its existence and worth depend on with whom it associates”.

Always be associated with people who are good at heart, stay in good company and have good people around you.

Start with this weekend, associate yourself with good company and stay blessed forever.
