Lighthouses have traditionally been viewed as symbols of hope and security. As beacons of light, they provide guidance for safe passage to sailors and protect not only their lives but the land nearby.

The lighthouse effect is the simple idea that any of us, immersed in the hustle and bustle of our own lives, wrestling with our own ambitions and imperfections, can pause and change the ark of the life of another.

There is so much negativity in the world. It seems to be everywhere we turn, and many of us quietly ask ourselves if this will ever get better. Even more, we are asking where do we turn for hope and inspiration.

Enter The Lighthouse Effect!

The Lighthouse Effect is the idea that any of us in any given moment and any given interaction can be a lighthouse for someone or find a lighthouse for ourselves.

Understanding your lighthouse effect will change the way you see the world and awaken you to the possibilities that you have to shape that same world.

The constant lighthouse over the years for me has been books and the famous quotes of positivity & encouragement which I keep noting & reminding myself whenever I need some inspiration.

Some time ago, I asked my office to create a large acrylic board for me to put up on the wall near my desk.

I chose a few words of wisdom from leaders I admire and put them on that board. In the center, I stuck a picture of a Lighthouse.

A lot of my colleagues were quite curious about the choice of this particular picture.

I explained to them quite proudly that this board is my lighthouse.

When ships are lost at sea, the lighthouse is a beacon light that guides them to their right course.

In a similar way, when my mind is agitated by the noise and troubles, when I can’t see things clearly, this collection of quotes will guide me back to my path. And over the years, it indeed has.

Some of the most prominent quotes in that pool of wisdom are :

“It’s never as good or as bad as you think.

“It’s darkest before dawn.”

Whenever you feel the problems are overcoming you, the solution is just round the corner.

Good things are coming. A colourful rainbow follows all the storms.”

A lighthouse is constant and dependable and helps people just by being there. In the way you live each day, you, too, can be helpful to others.

A lighthouse freely sends out its light to all. It doesn’t play favorites by helping just some ships. In the same way, we can be open to helping everyone we meet.

Whatever talents, gifts, and creative ideas you have, there is an unlimited number of ways to let your light shine.

So go ahead, be a lighthouse. You might be the bright light that others need to see through darkness and find their way home to good.

Create your own Lighthouse to take you back on course & try and be a lighthouse for others and Stay Blessed Forever.
