Lessons learnt from school and our experiences as a child shape our values & behaviour.

Doing the right thing generally means making decisions that are not based on your own personal needs, that don’t expand your popularity, or enforce your personal beliefs. It means doing what is best for the greater or common good.

Doing the right thing is often the hard thing to do, which is why it can be an uncommon outcome.

I recently read this story once about a teacher who took a fish out of its bowl & left a classroom of children as it flopped around.

The teacher told the students that if anyone left their seat & put the fish back in the bowl, they would be punished & may be suspended.

No

All the children sat & watched as the fish flopped, gasping for air. They did not get up from their seat in order to avoid getting into trouble.

Finally, a girl sprang up from her seat & ran to the fish & placed it back in the bowl.

She was the one who refused to watch the fish die & took action.

When the teacher returned, he told the class that this was a lesson.

The fear of getting into trouble & being punished, should never stop you from doing what’s right.

That sometimes you may have to oppose authority & group think, simply because it’s the right thing to do.

We all face so many situations in our daily life where we end up taking the easy way out & avoid doing the right thing.

We may do the right thing when in a crowd or in a public place but what really counts is Maintaining your character when no one is watching.

Do the right thing & stay blessed forever.
