'Change the perspective'

“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorns have roses.”

We all face tough times & the world seems unfair. During one of my low periods, I was only seeing negatively & one day I realized that there was only one thing I could change, and that was my perspective and how I looked at everything.

I decided that I could look at my life in one of two ways: either I was destined to be punished eternally and live a miserable life full of pain, hurt, and guilt; or I was going through all of this because the Universe knew I was strong enough to bear it and I would come out stronger, better, and happier than if I did not go through it.

I chose the latter.

When I decided to change my perspective, I felt comforted to know that all that I was going through had a purpose, even if I did not understand it.
I found a peace in knowing that I could change my mood in an instant by changing my perspective.

We all go through tough times, but how we view what we are going through is completely up to us.

Once a young apprentice, not so happy about the things around, went to his master to express his bitterness.

The master instructed the unhappy young man to put a handful of salt in a glass of water & drink it.
“How does it taste?” the master asked. “Bitter,” said the apprentice.”

The master chuckled & asked the young man to take the same handful of salt and put it in the lake.

The two walked in silence to the nearby lake, and once the apprentice swirled his handful of salt in the water, the old man said, “Now drink from the lake.”

After the water dripped down the young man’s chin, the master asked, “How does it taste?” “Fresh,” remarked the apprentice.
“Do you taste the salt?” asked the master.
“No,” said the young man.
At this, the master advised the young man, “The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain in life remains the same, exactly the same.

But the amount of bitterness we taste depends on the container we put the pain or suffering in.

So when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to change the perspective and enlarge your sense of things.”

Somewhere along the way, I was able to find the silver lining in my rainbow, and you can too.

Take a look at your life and think of the many tough times you have endured and the many blessings that have arisen from them.

You have a chance to find the bright side to your situation, no matter how tough it seems, by only changing your view and identifying the positive of every experience. There is a lesson in the pain and there is a beautiful rose in your thorn bush.

Remember, changing your perspective is like changing the window through which you view the world.
When you change how you view the world, you change how you feel about it.

Change the perspective and stay blessed forever.
