A few days ago, I read this beautiful note somebody wrote about Sunil Gavaskar.
“I was excited to meet a man whom I have admired since my school days – the legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar.
As I entered the commentators’ box at the Wankhede Stadium, I saw him smiling, playing with a pen, walking around, talking and joking with his fellow commentators – much like a school boy, full of bounce and energy.
It struck me that Gavaskar appears so youthful, but he is now 73 years of age. He retired from playing international cricket in 1987, over 35 years ago. Thereafter, he has transformed himself into a superb commentator of the game.
I asked him what was the secret of his youthful energy. Initially, he tried to gently brush away my question, saying that he perhaps looks younger than his age because he dyes his hair. But I persisted, since I really wanted to know.
He thought for a moment, and then said, ” I love my job. That keeps me young and happy. That keeps me wanting to get to work every single morning.”
Finding the job we love, Loving the job we have are Invaluable secrets to youthfulness, positivity and energy, which all of us desire in our lives.
As the old adage goes, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
It goes without saying that you feel fulfilled when you work on something meaningful to you and especially after achieving the end goal of it.
Obstacles you find on your way won’t be as relevant because you will always find a creative way around them.
We spend most of our days working, and that alone should be a reason to follow something that leaves us with a feeling of satisfaction during the hours we put in.
The main reason to do what you love is your happiness. Finding that place doesn’t only provide contentment, but makes you more motivated and better equipped to do the best job possible. You won’t just be happier – you’ll be more productive.
Choose & find a job you love & stay blessed forever.
