Generation Alpha is the demographic cohort born post 2010.
Their parents are primarily Millennials, and they are the older siblings of the younger Generation Beta or elder Gen Z.
Generation Alpha represents a significant evolution in human experience. Unlike before, Alphas have never known a world of scarcity, or one without smartphones, social media, and the constant hum of technology.
This hyper-connected environment shapes their values, communication styles, and perspectives on a global scale.
Born with an Abundance mindset way apart from the scarcity mindset of the baby boomers or Gen X, they have not learnt the ‘Fear of failure,’ nobody has told them about ‘Nerves,’ or Risk.
Self confidence & conviction is their second name.
All these attributes & more were visible last night in an amazing display of power hitting by the two youngsters, Vaibhav, representing the Gen Alpha and Yashasavi from the Gen Z, both born in the 21st century New India.
The Panache with which they took on the seasoned veterans and a sizeable challenge with elan and flair truly represented what their Gen stands for and what you can expect from them in the years to come.
Who hits the first ball you face at your debut for a nonchalant six, not get unnerved by a drop catch shortly thereafter and then claim the turf by the fastest century by an Indian in this format in his third innings thereby challenging the norms.
What I liked most, apart from the selection and timing of shots, was the humility and belongingness at the awards ceremony and the respect and the slight bow to seniors at the post match exchange of Greetings.
Take a Bow Young man, you have thoroughly entertained us and given us the glimpse of the future and the confidence, that both Indian cricket and our great nation are going to be in safe hands.
Just a wee bit of advice, don’t become a shooting star, don’t let the adulation and admiration deter you from the path of constant learning, practise and upskilling.
Be the shining light and the beacon of Viksit Bharat and be there playing as you are now, when India completes it’s first century of Independence.
May God be with you in your journey & stay blessed forever.
