How many times do you postpone a task by saying, “I shall start tomorrow / next week / Next month /in the New Year, but tomorrow never comes.
My entire life changed when I realized one truth:
You have to sacrifice short-term freedom in order to earn long-term freedom.
The things that make you feel happy in the present are often at odds with the things that make you feel happy in the future.
Another helping of the dessert, hitting the snooze button, turning off the alarm, procrastinating on the important decision, the 80 hour work weeks, the delayed start of the investment journey,
putting off the hard talk, the late night bingeing with friends, all have consequences which only reflect later when things go out of hand and need drastic corrective action.
Acting on short-term freedom—choosing to do the things that create instant happiness—may actually harm your ability to build long-term freedom.
Instant gratification is good for the days, but bad for the years. It may make your today great, but it will ruin your tomorrow.
Sacrifice is the cost of entry, Hard now – easy later.
Delayed gratification is the key to building the life you want.
Get out of your comfort zone today, make the decision and act on it, don’t postpone it to tomorrow & stay blessed forever.
