The ancient Babylonians practiced a vital law that was the cause of their immense prosperity – The Tithing Law.
They used the tithing law, which involves giving one tenth of all money or riches that you receive.
The Tithing law says that you must give to receive, and the Babylonians knew that the practice of this law opens up the flow of abundance.
If you are thinking, “I will give when I have enough money,”
then the tithing law says you will never have enough money, because you have to give first.
Many of the wealthiest people on the planet tithed their way to wealth, and they have never stopped tithing!
‘Dasvandh,’ which literally means “tenth part”, is the
tithing practice of contributing a portion of your earnings and time to the community in the name of your Guru or spiritual source.
The principle of Dasvandh is that if you give to the Infinite; Infinity, in turn, will give back to you.
It is a spiritual practice through which you build trust in the ability of the Infinite to respond to the flow of love and energy that you give.
This energy then expands tenfold and flows back to you in abundance.
As per the Sikh Religion, the Sikhs began bringing
offerings during the time of Guru Nanak who promoted the concept and virtue of
Dasvandh in his bani.
He said,
ਘਾਲਿ ਖਾਇ ਕਿਛੁਹਥਹੁਦੇਇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਹੁਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਸੇਇ ॥੧॥
ghaal khaa-ay kichh hathahu day-ay. naanak raahu
pachhaaneh say-ay.
One who works for what he eats, and gives some of what he has
O Nanak, he knows the Path.
Adopt the Law of Tithing, give to receive and Stay Blessed Forever.
