Someone asked,
“Why do we have brakes in a car?”
Many answers were provided like “to stop”,
“to reduce speed” ,
“avoid collision” etc.,
but the best answer, I found was,
“to allow us to drive faster”
Give it a thought.
It’s true but seldom appreciated.
It’s because we have brakes that we can dare to accelerate, dare to go fast and reach the destinations we desire.
At various points in life, we found our parents, teachers, mentors, friends, spouse etc. questioning our progress, direction or decision, asking us to slow down and putting brakes in our life.
But remember it’s just because of them that we are where we are today.
Learn to appreciate the ‘brakes’ in your life.
Life has given you a weekend, take a break, don’t question the purpose, enjoy it, slow down today to accelerate later.
