The debate on the glass half full vs half empty has gone on for ages.

The topic of pessimism versus optimism is not as clear-cut as one might think.

Aspects of each can have advantages and disadvantages, depending on the situation.

However, as with other emotional and attitudinal contrasts, one tends to win out over the other if our goal is success, happiness and life fulfillment.

Or better yet, generally, optimism with a pinch of pessimism may be the best attitude to strive for.

Research has revealed that optimistic people are likely to achieve more and be happier than pessimists.

One of the reasons for this is that when optimists encounter obstacles, their propensity is to anticipate a successful outcome, and that expectation makes them more likely to seek viable solutions.

Ronald Reagan once shared this story about Optimist Vs Pessimist.

There were two brothers. One was a dyed-in-the-wool pessimist. The other an incurable optimist.

The parents thought both kids were so unrealistic that they talked to a psychiatrist, who came up with an idea for Christmas: Give the pessimistic boy a roomful of the most incredible toys and tell them they’re all for him.

Give the optimistic boy a roomful of horse manure and tell him that’s all he’s getting.

That should help cure them

The parents did exactly that.

When they checked on their boys, the pessimist with all the toys was crying. “Someone is going to take all of these away from me,” he said.

The optimistic kid with a roomful of horseshit had never been happier.

He was digging frantically. “There’s got to be a pony in here somewhere,” he said.

Optimists and pessimists don’t respond to the information they see as much as they do an interpretation of what they want to see.

When you wake up in the morning, whatever may be the circumstances, you have a choice, to be optimistic, to look at the bright side, at what all is good & going right  for you,

Or be pessimistic & look at the darker side of things.

The choice is yours.

There may be some things wrong happening in your life but there are also a lot of right things happening in your life.

Be grateful, have faith & think positive.

Optimistic thoughts generate positive feelings & attract positive life experiences.

Today believe good things will happen & they will.

Stay optimistic, believe you can & stay Blessed forever!
