“May all my improper actions be inconsequential.
My fault has been due to error.
May all my transgressions be forgiven.
I ask pardon of all living beings, may all of them pardon me, May I have friendship with all beings & enmity with none.”
‘Michhami Dukkadam’ is a Jain phrase used during the Paryushana festival, a time for seeking forgiveness & expressing remorse for any harm caused to others.
When you learn to forgive, others & yourself, you will be surprised to discover the lightness & freedom that unfold thereafter. Forgiveness won’t necessarily erase all our pain, But it does mean that the hurt will no longer be center stage.
Forgive because life is too short to be bitter & angry,
Forgive because it is the only way to have peace in life,
Forgive because we are also imperfect & have sinned.
Use this period as a commitment to self-improvement,
to seek forgiveness for any harm, whether intentional or unintentional, caused through thoughts, words & action & stay blessed forever.
