Let's Be Grateful!

The last few days have been demanding & challenging for all of us.

It reminded us that
there are moments in life when everything feels fragile.

You wake up to news of conflict, war, tragedy, or chaos. Even if it’s happening far away, or on a screen, it seeps into your system & suddenly those plans you were making about work, a holiday, etc just yesterday, seems almost pointless.

What’s the use of a long-term plan when the world itself feels unsure?

I won’t write about the war.
This isn’t about politics or patriotism, But it is about life during times when the chaos outside unsettles our inner world.
Because if there’s one thing they remind us of is, how little control we actually have.

And that’s why we must re-focus on the few things we can control and our reaction to what is happening around us.

The overwhelming feeling I had during the last week or so was the feeling of gratitude and the faith that things will work out well and ‘This too shall pass.’

I was grateful that the last few days :
I did not sleep well,
But I did wake up.
My muscles were sore,
But they did work.
My wallet may not have been full,
But my belly was.
I may not have had all I wanted, but I had all I needed.
My life was not perfect,
But my life was good.

I was grateful for having been born into this lovely country,
I was grateful for our Armed Forces and the government machinery who spent sleepless nights & tireless effort protecting us from the nefarious designs of the enemy.
I was grateful to our political leaders both in power & in the opposition, to have shown the firm resolve and unitedly decided to tackle the enemy as one.

I was grateful for the ceasefire and resumption of peace, so that we could continue with our ‘normal life’ after having taught the perpetarators a lesson.

Our ‘Normal Day’ was our dream a few days ago & let’s be grateful for the same.

Let’s be grateful for all our blessings so far and the blessings God has in store for us in the future & stay blessed forever.
