“Some people grumble that roses have thorns; I am grateful that thorns have roses”

A lot of people have this query: How to practise gratitude in this ungrateful world?

Singer, songwriter, and actress Dolly Parton spoke about gratitude & said:

“I make a point to appreciate all the little things in my life, because I learned early that if you don’t, you get disappointed a lot. If you do, you might be pleasantly surprised quite often.

I go out & smell the air after a good, hard rain. I re-read passages from my favorite books. I hold the little treasures that somebody special gave me. By keeping my eyes open for unexpected joys, I find the world gives back more than we sometimes think.”

For me, the process is simpler:
> I repeat saying, ‘Thank you, Thank you, Thank you God’ The first thing when I get up in the morning, the last thing before going to sleep & hundreds of time during the day.

> I Write a thank-you note wherever possible.

> I Keep a gratitude journal.

> I Meditate.

> I acknowledge my blessings many times a day.

> I Thank someone mentally for the good he has done.

> I Appreciate myself as well as others and wish good things for myself & others.

Practicing gratitude and appreciation keeps us mentally strong.
It acts as the psychological booster in times of adversity and emotional turmoil, keeping me from sinking too low.

Along my journey, I have learnt that the more thankful Iam, the more I have to be thankful for.
Iam thankful that my blessings are bigger than my problems,
Iam grateful that God gives me challenges to face but also helps me to overcome them.

Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.

Thank you God for all your blessings to me and my family, for the strength you give me each day, and for blessing me with all the wonderful people in my life who make my journey more meaningful.

I love this old saying, “Begin your prayer with thanks & you will never get to asking.”

Just breathe – Inhale your blessings, exhale gratitude & stay blessed forever.
