I posted a blog on
‘An Abundant Mindset’ somedays back.
A lot of readers asked, how does one develop an Abundant mindset?
Instead of practicing an abundance mindset, why do we tend to focus on the negative aspects of a situation or experience?
Why, in most cases, it is easier to hone in on how steep the price is rather than immerse ourselves in the value, the benefits & the great experience we had.
This happens, because instead of focusing on gratitude and abundance, the human brain is wired for a single purpose – survival.
The mind is not designed to make you happy; it’s designed to help you survive. It is always looking for what could hurt you, and it magnifies the bad.
But here’s the thing – you have the choice of what to focus on. You can learn how to develop an abundance mindset.
Remember, what’s wrong is always available, but so is what’s right.
It’s natural for many people to operate in a scarcity mindset, especially in competitive environments.
But when you learn how to develop an abundance mindset, you’ll open opportunities you never thought possible.
Here are some ways to develop an abundance mindset:
‘Surround yourself with abundance’ – Build a network of like-minded people who are committed to growth and appreciate your experiences.
‘Focus on gratitude’ – Keep a gratitude journal to list things you’re grateful for each day. This will help you appreciate what you already have.
‘Use affirmations’ – Repeat positive affirmations daily to create positive growth in your mind.
‘Adopt a growth mindset’ –
Model abundance thinking by showing others how you handle scarcity and shift to an abundance mindset. For example, you can show them that you appreciate what you have, share generously, and maintain a positive attitude.
‘Be generous’ – Cultivating generosity can shift your mindset away from scarcity and toward abundance.
‘Celebrate your wins’ – Acknowledge your accomplishments and celebrate them, no matter how small. This will help you stay motivated and energized.
‘Create win-win situations’ – Instead of having a win-or-lose attitude, try to create win-win scenarios that benefit everyone involved. Collaborate instead of competing to help others build their own feelings of abundance.
‘Visualize abundance’ –
Consider your desired outcomes and visualize them. As you achieve your goals, visualize yourself surrounded by love, prosperity, and joy.
This is a very effective technique because the seeds of abundance can be planted in your subconscious mind through these visualizations.
‘Invest in yourself’ – Our fear of scarcity tells us to hoard resources, but abundance thrives on growth and investment. Don’t forget to invest in yourself, whether it’s learning a new skill, taking a course, or taking care of your health.
Keep in mind that these investments are not just self-indulgent. Instead, they are acts of faith in your own potential and catalysts for greater abundance.
Other ways to develop an abundance mindset include: Focusing on existing resources, Positive thinking, being curious, switching your perspective, and learning to share.
Developing an abundance mindset takes time. The old scarcity thoughts may creep back in from time to time. Nonetheless, you can gradually shift your perspective and unlock the abundance within you and around you with consistent effort and a commitment to growth.
Define your own sense of abundance.
Everyone has a different definition of an abundant mindset. For example, someone might define abundance as earning six figures per year. Others, however, see it as having a close-knit family.
In other words, if you don’t know what to strive for, it’s hard to get yourself in an abundant mindset.
To determine what abundance means to you, ask yourself the following questions:
If you were abundant, how would you feel?
Could you describe your ideal life?
Opt for an abundance mindset & stay blessed forever.
