Someone recently shared some lines attributed to Meryl Streep which really resonated with me.
She said:
“I’ve learned not to beg — not for attention, not for love, not for respect.
I don’t want to be in anyone’s life out of obligation.
If I have to explain my worth
If I have to convince someone to love me,
then that’s not my place.
Life is too short to waste energy on anything that isn’t mutual.
I don’t fear growing older.
I fear losing myself just to please others.
At this point in my life, I choose peace —
above everything else.”
Take a moment today to ask yourself: Am I clinging to relationships or situations that drain me?
Am I afraid to speak my truth because I worry about what others will think?
Remember, real love and respect shouldn’t require a sales pitch.
Embrace the freedom that comes from valuing yourself first, and let go of anything that stands in the way of your inner peace & stay blessed forever.
