If there is one thing I am going to try and do more and more in 2026, the one spiritual skill that for me beats every other spiritual skill, is learning to get really really really good at letting go.
Letting go is a psychological and spiritual process of releasing attachments to negative emotions, past hurts, unwanted outcomes, and harmful habits to find emotional freedom, peace, and clarity, allowing you to move forward without being weighed down by burdens. It involves acknowledging feelings without judgment, accepting what is, and allowing painful experiences to run their course, creating space for new growth, joy, and opportunities.
The question is how do you let go.
Sure you can meditate and pray and heal and go silent. All such practices work. To help you step into who and all you’re meant to be, as you realize your highest potential.
Sure, it sounds so simple.
To…let go and let Karma do the rest.
…To do your best and then have the bravery, wisdom and faith to let life do the rest.
…To exercise action and then release longing and wishing and trust the ancient and transformational prayer “thy will be done.”
Seems easy but very hard to apply, in practical life.
Because we all want what we want. It’s such a challenge to let go, and trust that after we’ve done our human part (invested the sweat equity, risen when fallen and stood for excellence) whatever comes is for our absolute best.
In 2026, I shall try and do the best I can do, for something to happen and then release my tight grip and accept whatever comes, knowing that my higher power has sent me what is right, correct and helpful for me.
Reminds me of the words of Stoic sage Seneca: “Make the best use of what is in your power, and take the rest as it happens.”
May God help me in my journey of learning to ‘Let Go.’
Try and get really really really good at letting go & stay blessed forever.
