Aristotle wrote, “We are what we repeatedly do.”
Webster’s dictionary defines a habit as: “An acquired mode of behavior that has become nearly or completely involuntary.”
Our life today is essentially the sum of our habits
How in shape or out of shape we are? A result of our habits.
How happy or unhappy we are? A result of our habits.
How successful or unsuccessful we are? A result of our habits.
What we repeatedly do, i.e. what we spend time thinking about and doing each day ultimately forms the person we are, the things we believe, and the personality that we portray.
There’s a story about a man riding a horse, galloping quickly. It appears that he’s going somewhere very important.
A man standing along the roadside shouts, “Where are you going?”
The rider replies, “I don’t know. Ask the horse!”
This is the story of most people’s lives; they’re riding the horse of their habits, with no idea where they’re headed.
It’s time to take control of the reins, and move your life in the direction of where you really want to go.
One of the best books on the subject I have read is ‘Atomic Habits’ by James Clear where he presents a proven system for building good habits and breaking bad ones.
Change your habits, become a better you & stay blessed forever.
