It’s not winning battles that make you happy, but it’s how many times you turned away and chose to look into a better direction.

I once met a very successful man and I asked him to share his secret with me.
He smiled and said to me…
“I started succeeding when I started leaving small fights for small fighters.
I stopped fighting those who gossiped about me…
I stopped fighting over unnecessary issues with my spouse…
I stopped fighting for attention…
I stopped fighting to meet up with public expectations…
I left such fights for those who have nothing else to fight…
And I started fighting for my vision, my dreams, my ideas and my destiny. It was then that I started winning big.
That was the day I gave up on small fights.
Some fights are not worth your time.
You shouldn’t have time for unnecessary fights!”
Visionaries don’t cluster their mind with nonsense bickering!
When you are presented with a conflict, ask yourself:
Is this fight adding to my destiny, helping me in my goal, aiding my progress?
How important is addressing this?
What is the payoff from winning this? (Is there an actual result to gain or is it for the sake of winning?)
Can my time be better spent elsewhere? (Is there an opportunity cost to your time?)
Often, the disagreements we face in life are trivial disputes with no consequence in the long run, such as arguments with unreasonable or negative people.
Engaging with them takes up our time and energy, distracts us from what’s important, and disrupts our peace of mind.
In such cases, it may be better to ignore them. Sometimes walking away is a sign of strength and wisdom.
