In the beginning of David Foster Wallace’s “This is Water”: There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says “Morning, boys. How’s the water?”

And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes,

“What the hell is water?”

When you grow up with certain advantages, their presence can be hard to notice.

Are you also taking your advantages for granted?

This too shall pass,

We are all blessed with certain privileges in our lives, but we overlook them and take them for granted.

Let’s be grateful, there are many who dream to be where we are today.

Acknowledge your advantages and stay blessed forever.
